Hamatethy is a private country house set at the end of a long wooded drive, surrounded entirely by its own land. Hidden between the Camel Valley and the edge of Bodmin Moor, it is a place where families and groups come together to slow down and reconnect.

The house sits within a living rewilding project, where wetlands, woodland and moorland are being restored through natural processes. Days unfold between shared meals, long walks, wildlife encounters and quiet moments indoors, with nature always close by.

About Hamatethy

The House

The house sleeps up to fourteen guests across seven bedrooms and is let as a whole. It is designed for relaxed, multi generational stays, with generous shared spaces for cooking and conversation, alongside quieter rooms for rest after time outdoors.

The Land

From river valley to open moor, Hamatethy is a landscape of varied character. Across 750 acres, guests are free to explore at their own pace. Near the house, the Beaver Woods were once defined by a small woodland stream; today, the valley has become a thriving wetland, shaped by Beavers and alive with birds, insects and plant life.

Through Rewilding and Wilder Farming, the estate is being restored to support biodiversity, resilience and abundance. Guests experience this quietly, through walks, wildlife sightings and time spent outdoors.
